I was out watering after work the other day and discovered my first tomato ever (!) growing on my cherry tomato plant. I have a tomato! I'm so excited. And yesterday I discovered the beginning of a second tomato, but I haven't uploaded a picture of it yet.
Isn't it fantastic when we see those very first fruits? I'll bet those tomatoes will taste better than any shop bought ones when they ripen. Do remember to feed the plants now that they have started to produce as they need extra help to form more fruits that will mature. Tomorite is a good tomato feed.
"Fruits of your labour" takes on a literal meaning, what a pleasant sight Monica. Well done and may there be many, many more tomatoes on the way!

Oh, good job. Now you will be going out to count the tomato population everyday. When they start ripening good luck refraining from eating them as you pick them, save some for the rest of the family. :-D
Oh monmon, you are so lucky! I can't wait to have my first tomato from the garden! There is no comparing a home grown tomato to the ones you get in the store!
My dad and stepmother used to have a Scottie named Obsidian. Every year when the tomatoes stated growing, the dog would walk along and eat the tomatoes before they could ripen! *lmbo* Sadly, she had to be put to sleep this year and dad said that they arent going to plant tomatoes because the memories woudl be too sad.
Great monmon! I love finding the fruits have started growing, especially if its by suprise when watering! In the UK i have some courgettes on the way too but theyre currently pretty tiny.

very nice!! now the waiting and watching game begins. i feel like i've been waiting years for a sign of yellow on my toms. is there a way to speed up the ripening process?? my old man used to put them on the window ledge. but i cant say i ever took any notice if it worked or not. :-D
That is a handsome tomato on a very healthy looking vine! Just wait, in a month you'll be giving cherry tomatoes away. Enjoy it to the fullest when it ripens!
Congratulations. There is nothing like a home grown tomato. Grocers should be shot for the terrible cardboard tasting things they sell to the public. I'm waiting impatiently for my cherry tomatoes to get ripe. Makes my mouth water just thinking about those little red gems.
