We've made the American news. Why? Well, Justin Bieber, that's why: http://www.foxnews.com/entertainmen...so-students-can-attend-justin-bieber-concert/ Some of our politicians are up in arms over this. The headmasters claim it's better to move mid-term tests forward one week than having maybe 1/3 of the students not attending. What to do? I don't know, but I'm laughing. Hard.
I suppose the headmasters are right as youngesters really go mad for this guy. Me, I'd rather sit at home with a good book and a cup of tea.
Even when I was a teenager he would not have been my type...too cute in a freaky kind of way. But I can understand why the headmasters made that decision. The girls are going to be at the concert, it's better to change the schedule so they don't all get zero's for a major exam. Chill out politicians...who obviously do not remember being teenagers in lust with the latest rock or movie star.
I agree,.. better to get time off and go to the concert,.. then do the exam at a later date rather than miss the exam because it coincides with the concert,..,..though i do hope Justin turns up early rather than what he did in England,..he was nearly two hours late,..some kids went home. As for his wanting to start a fight with reporters outside his hotel as he was getting into his car,..wow that boy knows how to curse and swear lol.
I'm certain the headmasters would be happy to know that they've got international support. I'm no fan of his, but I have been a fan of other shooting stars, so I recognize the girls' way of thinking. I guess the tickets were bought before the exams were scheduled. If I were one of the girls' parents I wouldn't like to see my money go out the window.
I'm not a fan either, and was never one to freak out over a star. What ever happened to work before pleasure? No wonder kids have trouble figuring out priorities these days .... geeze. I think this is a little ridiculous!
Had my customer Told her my new Jeans Justin Bieber. Could not keep the darn back end up. Into Goodwill.
We had a big TV debate just now, and I felt it was about time too. The debate wasn't just about moving mid-terms tests so the girls could go to see Justin Bieber, but about children being given leave of absence for just about anything because their parents ask for it. For instance, many parents want to take their children out of school for one to two weeks to go on holiday because it's cheaper outside the normal school holidays. Many children want to go to special soccer camps or other sports camps held in another part of the country. Norway's a very long country, and traveling takes time, so they need both Friday and Monday off, maybe several times per year. Headmasters all over the country are supposed to make decisions after given guidelines, but the practice varies a lot. As for Bieber the students realized the situation last autumn and started working out a solution in accordance with teachers and the headmaster. There's going to be more schoolwork for the students so they're not getting anything for nothing. I like that.
That same debate has been going on in the UK too Droopy.Nowadays there have to be really extenuating circumstances before children can be taken out of school, which I think is only right and proper. I'm glad that the children off to see Bieber will have to make up for it though.Fingers crossed he won't be as rude as he was for a concert here.No apology,no explanation, nothing.
