Aren't you the lucky one Wrennie to be surrounded by such beauties. And we are even luckier to have you post such well shot photos here for us to see. Thanks for posting them.

Love your pics...I'm bird lover, too. We have blue herons in our area, and last summer we witnessed a young heron get a fish. We were amazed to watch the fish as it moved down its skinny throat! Then the heron tried to fly off, but instead flew head-first into a pontoon boat onshore (I think the fish weighted the young bird down). He shook himself off, finished swallowing, and then went on his way. Quite a show for all of us sitting down by the shore, not 50 feet away from him!!! I just hope he doesn't find my pond and the goldfish within.

Fantastic photographs Wrennie. You must have a lot of patience and a good eye to get such great shots of all your feathered visitors. :stew1:

Ahhhhhh Wrennie---those are nice. I really enjoy seeing bird fotos, and you have some great ones here.
This helps to instill a summer-feeling in the middle of wintertime.

Those are great shots Wrennie. I don't suppose you have one of a Hummingbird? I tried to get a shot of mine last summer, but those little guys are quick!

Nice pictures. I like the grosbeak bird, he's so pretty. I mostly see the woodpeckers in my yard in the winter time while eating on the suet. Thanks for sharing.

You have "real" blue jays. We just have those loud, noisy scrub jays. I wanted a picture of one, but it's Chance's job to keep the birds out of the garden so the scrub jays have to stay away from the yard. They sneak down to steal a walnut or two though.
We had heron's along the river when we lived down the hill a couple thousand feet. I haven't seen any up here. Must be too cold for them. I have some curved bill thrashers now that sing so beautifully. I'll try to get some pictures of them. dooley

What a great bunch of birds. :-D We have all of those here at one time or another. Don't you just love when the swallows come back? I have geese and ducks and the swallows come and get the white feathers to line their nests.

:D Nope. I have the feeders where they were and a flower where they were.... you get the idea. My SIL has a couple she took through a window, had to 'hide' behind the glass. Not digital though.

Geeez,, those are great pics Wrennie!!! I wish we had a few of those little birds here, all we have is magpies, crows, ravens an eagles. But we do have this really cute little bird that is black an yellow,,it is just the cutest little thing. I wish i knew the name of it. We have bird feeders all over an we get that one i just said, an this other bird that is all black but a little bigger than the yellow one. I love birds an watching them is so funny sometimes.

We do have a heron here too, but only occasionally. i like that pic you posted.

Ohh yeah how on earth could i forget the seagulls and cranes,,,
