We solved a mystery last night. We have a bird feeder just outside the dinette windows, and occasionally, in the morning we will find it facing away from the windows, not the way we left it. We have speculated every thing from Bears to Raccoons. Last night during dinner with our kids and grand kids, one of the kids called out that there as a deer out there. We all looked out, and sure enough there was the Mom deer and her twins. She shortly answered our mystery, when she nosed the feeder around so that she could get her tongue into the seeds, and enjoy some of the bird's food. The following pictures were taken in haste, and didn't turn out too well, but tell the story anyway. It was dusk, and I couldn't use a flash from inside, so I went to a slow shutter speed, but that caused blurred pictures, and there was some reflection from the lights inside. Sorry about the bad pictures.
    Tom

That definetly solves the mystery. Glad you were able to get a shot, even though it is a bit blurred. Maybe you will be camera ready should they appear again. Thanks for sharing.

Hope you are feeling better. :stew1:

Looks like your squirrel-proof feeder isn't deer-proof! Never saw a deer at a birdfeeder, but we have had bears show up in spring after they wake up from hibernation. Great pictures, despite the blur...

Gosh you did well to get those shots Tom. The last one looks as if mum is asking for you to refill the feeder for her!! So glad you solved the mystery.

    How's the knee doing now?

How about that! I always wonder about what's going on outside when I'm not looking! Love a good mystery -- glad you solved it.

Thanks everyone, one less of lifes great mysterys to worry about. The knee is healing, but the brace I'm waring won't allow me to move the knee much. It may as well not bend at all. So, I'm gimping around, and can't sit at the computer much, a streight leg doesn't fit under the desk too well.

You are a good photographer. I have enjoyed so many of your pics here on the stew. Sorry about your knee and hope it heals soon. That last photo should have a caption of: "Busted!" :D I had no idea that deer like bird seed.
