and it isn't looking good at the moment. The nurse went in this evening and Nan was in a weak state and was having a huge nosebleed - blood everywhere apparently, so they called an ambulance and that is the last we heard. My cousin popped in to see her earlier today and he said she seemed very low, off colour, so the carers had been popping in. Fingers crossed it is something and nothing and they can sort her out again. She was doing so well, on the mend at last.
Oh darn, EJ!!! That is bad news to read today. I'm going to get those "get well vibes" started up right away. Please keep us posted and let her know we are are doing our 'get well' thing for her. That nose bleeding is curious. While there are a number of things that can cause this, I am wondering if she kept herself hydrated enough. One thing that older folks do not usually do is drink enough. They FEEL that they drink enough, but volumn-wise they are often mistaken. When the nasal mucosa becomes thin and dry the small vessels can rupture. Fingers crossed for her.
Oh no - just when we thought your nan was over the worst too!! I'm keeping everything crossed that she'll rally and be feeling better soon.
Darn, she had just had enough time to get comfy at home again too. Good thoughts, healing vibes heading her way.
I'm sorry to here about your Nan.I hope she gets well soon.It sounds like she is getting to much blood thinner.I will be praying for her.
Another update. She is back home again - phewie! It seems her blood is very very thin at the moment due to the different drugs she is on, and her soft tissue is very fragile. They did a host of tests, we are still waiting for various results, but for now it seems she just has to be very careful with herself and rest....which of course she is finding hard to do. We will hear more over the weekend and I will keep you posted. Thanks for all of your good wishes once again. What a team!
Phewie indeed EJ!! Thank goodness she is home again but I hope she'll take the advice given to her and rest. I'll keep an eye out for further updates. Do let her know we're all thinking of her.
