Mimosa will grow just about anywhere, I pull them up from all over my front and back yards every year. They do need full sun and hot weather.
Mimosa trees, I planted 2 from seed last summer-they came up really good. Now being spring it doesn't look like they will be coming back. Can anyone give an expanation for this??
Petunia, Zones 7-10 are their prime growing locations for in ground. They don't survive severe winter conditions like you all have unless they are potted and put in a warm greenhouse over the winter.
Planted the Mimosa Thank you for the advice. I planted the Mimosa in my back yard where it will receive plenty of sun. It looks fine but we have had loads of rain for weeks it seems like and unbelievably the temperature is expected to get down to the upper 30s tonight.
It might be fine where you are Tammy -- they do well here anyway (Maryland). I pull up seedlings from my neighbor's tree here, there and everywhere! It will be a pretty tree and the blossoms smell amazing on a hot summernight.
