    Hi guys,

We have a really odd shaped entry way and we can't figure out what we should put down for keeping the floor clean when we come in. I've attached a photo of the space. The doors from right to left are: garage door (used very often), front door (not used as much), closet and bathroom. The only ideas we have so far are a medium sized carpet at each door or a custom cut carpet that cover the area. Thoughts? Thanks!

Linoleum comes to mind as it's so easy to mop clean but if this doesn't appeal to you then there are many types of stain resistant carpets out there today that would look good in your entry way. Lastly you could lay floor tiles down which would be more durable than either lino or carpets and could also be mopped easily. There are many different kinds you could consider; limestone, slate, porcelain, natural stone to name but a few.

Have you seen the modern style carpet squares featured on the HGTV shows? They come in lots of colors, patterns... reasonable price, can put in different shapes and combos and supposedly if one gets dirty, you pick it up and wash it off under the faucet. They stick to each other, not to the floor. Here is one kind:

I would do a small rectangle inside front entrance, turned across, then a longer matching rug for hallway area, turned lengthwise.
