You must have a wonderful garden, if birds want to camp out on your windowsills to enjoy the view!
She looks like an Eurasian Collared Dove. Is she?

Susie that's a wise bird isn't it? She has your protection and obviously feels safer around humans than she would anywhere else. Do keep us updated with more photographs when her eggs hatch won't you?

At least your birds are building their nests in safe out of the way places... unlike mine! :-D

I researched some information. The mourning dove is one of my favorite birds. She probably has two eggs and it will take them 14 days to hatch. She may have from one to six broods a year.

SusieQ, If she doesn't lay anymore eggs and she begins to "sit tight" today, well, then, we will all be proud Aunts and Uncles by the end of the month.

Won't that be great? They are born nude and not hatched running like a chicken, fully feathered. You may get to watch mama feed and caring them. Maybe you can snap some shots for all us family members to enjoy also.

both male and female sit, male during the day, female at night, and they have been sitting close to the 14 day period, which is how long they incubate, so I am waiting, camera in hand.
