About Dec 26th or so, we noticed a dove couple checking out a nesting sight on our patio. It's probably the same couple that took up residence last spring (they all look alike to me).
I've written before about the grief they give me, as their babies don't stand a chance if they land on the ground around my dog. Does anyone know how many
clutches of babies they could have during a typical season? At this rate, I bet they will crank out about 4 clutches by June.

In warm climates such as where you are they can raise up to 6 broods in a season. You may have to become very inventive to come up with ways to keep them from nesting there again.

The doves around here are notorious for building nests in dumb vulnerable places too... They are sweet birds but silly nesters...
