    The birds are really enjoying the nesting material holders that I made and filled.

    Your nesting material will be saving the birds time and energy. There'll be lots of little nestlings who'll be grateful for the soft lining in their nests.

    The wrens raided them as well. They really went at it.

    I had an old cushion that I no longer needed so cut into it. I thoroughly washed the fat cake feeders before filling them with the down from it. (The feeders aren't needed again until the autumn.) The birds are loving having all the feathers to line their nests with and are giving me lots of pleasure watching them flying off with beaks full time and time again.
