Nesting time.

    I placed a pampas grass near an old log and the sparrows found in in very quick time.

    I agree the pampas grass is a great source of nesting material for garden birds. I really like the shot you managed to get of the sparrow Kildale. :-D

    Nice picture Kildale, if ever there was a 'catnip' for bird nest building you have found it. My father would put out pieces of cut string and watch the birds fuss over which one they wanted.

    I made this material holder, put a couple of perches in and filled it with different materials.

    I used to do just the same when we had our Labrador Retreiver. When I groomed him I'd collect his hair and put it into a cage bird feeder. The birds seemed to appreciate it as it was soon emptied at nesting time.

    What a nice photo Kildale. :D I like to see birds gathering nest lining. My mother's rugs were under attack when she aired them on Fridays in spring. :D I watch the birds gathering horse hair from the dung container at the stables and I always wonder what the finished nest looks like.
