We had a flock of wild turkeys in our front yard this morning! The state released 15 males and 15 females 2 years ago in the woods behind our house. And they are doing well. There were 4 adults and 4 chicks about 1/2 grown.

The picture is a little blurry as they were so far away. If you look just to the right of the stump you can see one and to the left of the tree, you can see another one.

In this one you can see one just above the Hosta and there is another one to the left.

I had heard them this spring, but this is the first I had seen them!

Vermont set out to save the wild turkey several years ago. Now they are everywhere! They have turned into pests. Raiding bird feeders and pooping everywhere!

When we lived at the last house with the woods in our backyard we had them all the time. I think it is funny to watch those big things fly to a tree.

mmmmm Turkey. (my best homer simpson voice) Good eatin.

I can see the turkeys in the top pic, looks like they was crossing the road..thats cool to have that.

We had 2 elk walk thru our camping field about 4 days ago. it was full of campers from Austria, and we were all so stunned. Not a camera to be found until they were all clear of the camp ground,,,lol. Germans, Austrians and Bavarians go wild over anything with an elk logo on it or elk stuffed animals. These guys got to see 2 live!!!

Interesting wildlife I would say. I do not know very much about turkeys, except for the eating type. Like Biita says - my first thought was also the Homer Simpson thought. ;)
