I have a pergola to hang feeders in that my husband built last spring. It has been successful in attracting birds to my yard until my trees are larger to hold the feeders. I added two mugho pine shrubs to the sides of it..here is a before and an after shot of the area... I do plan on putting some large pots out again as soon as our weather warms up... our weather has been cool and things are slow here..hopefully it will warm up and stay that way...and please no more snow...
A beautiful place Sherry, I liked it better with the deep snow all around it last winter but then that's just me
Your pergola spot looks perfect, and it's so green around it too! I can see flowers hanging outside. What have you planted in your baskets? Edit, that was last year's photo. Sorry. What are you planning to plant out there this year?
Droopy...that was last summers. I had petunias in the large pots and I love gazanias so I have them in the hanging baskets. toni...I love the snow pictures too. I just don't like it when I have to shovel it or drive in it...
Nice! And look how open it is where you are - all that sunshine. I'm always having to get plants that can tolerate a lot of shade, I covet your sun. The pergola is lovely - did he make it from scratch or was it a kit? (though I know either way is a lot of work!)
I think your pergola looks fantastic no matter what the weather conditions Sherry. The mugho pine shrubs certainly add a nice touch and once your baskets are up again it's going to look even more special.
That is beautiful Sherry. Toni, I liked the pics with the snow also. I will look at them again when it gets 100+ down here. NOT looking forward to that!!
A splendid pergola...I wish the weather would hurry up there so we can see more pics. You guys did a great job with that so far. I´m lookinf foreward to see how it shapes up later on in the season. Thanls so much for this thread.
Primsong....my husband built that for me..no plans at all and he made the lattice, I wanted the squares big enough for the birds to sit in. We picked a curve on the top and I knew what I wanted to hang inside of it...I love it, it did the trick in attracting birds.
