Hahahaha....They should have named her April. What a day to be born. You must be over the moon. Congrats...I still just can't believe that you are a grandmother. You don't look it nor act like it.
I hope you and your new granddaughter get on well later in life.

She IS precious! So far, she is very content. I have yet to hear her cry, and have only seen her open her eyes once. My friend told me the saying "pinch her, so she stays pink" LOL and even that did not wake her. (I really didn't pinch!)
She is mostly sleeping and eating. Big brother Nikolas is in love with her.
Sjored- Been a Gma for 10 years.(started so young, you know.. LOL) I tell my kids when they bring the kids here, they should bring "grubbies" to play outside and help Grandma with garden chores. Start them off by sitting in the wagon, then given a watering can and maybe a trowel and some seeds to plant in spring. Fun

10 years!?!! Unimaginable. Yeah, an early start. chortle. You had a lucky partner, I say.
It sounds like you are introducing the wonders of gardening in doses. That sounds such a good and reasonable idea. I can recall my grandfather taking time to explain farming things to me almost as if I were an adult. He claimed to my parents and grandma that I understood the principals. To tell you thruth, I cannot remember if I did or not, but I had a genuine interest even at a very early age...I was just a koter at the time.

I will say though, that I spent loads of time in the veggie garden that was just next to the farm house. No one told me much of anything about that place, but I was deeply interested. Aside from that, I had to help with the various chores like forking stall manure on there and ploughing it in. Harvesting. They gave me the summertime job of keeping the insects off the plants. hahaha.

What all this comes down to is that I think that the smart way that you plan on integrating outdoor things into their lives that they have every chance of developing a love of gardening and nature. Thoughtful exposure can have such a positive result. It is a very healthy standpoint. Fingers crossed for you and yours.

Sjoerd- I remember being fascinated with my grandparent's huge veggie garden. Just something about the plants bearing food, and the dirt, and the cycle of planting, tending and harvest. Bugs, and birds are also a big part of the process that I will share my love of. Guess it is in my blood, and will share these things I love!
