I took my camera outside this afternoon. Things are happening out there despite the fairly cold weather. :-D

A couple of fairly small Primula auricula:

    The double Erythronium:

A tiny fern in the alpine border:

Some of the big crocus are still at it:

A couple of different Sedum that keep growing into each other:

    And finally the Caltha palustris:

I can see colour showing all over the place now. Just a little more warm weather, and we're off!

What pretty blooms. Isn't it amazing what will grow and bloom in cold weather?

The Sedum, are those Dragon's Blood and Tri-color? I have both of those waiting their turn to be planted, as soon as I figure out where they will be planted that is.

Thank you! I don't know Toni. The labels said Sedum Mix. But I bought them anyway. Both have yellow blooms. I find them ugly-charming with the red, grey and yellow.

Loving your flowers. Can't believe your
erythronium (third from the top). I take them for granted. Thought it was just a wild type flower. They grow all around down the road from of us in the woods. Thanks for posting.

Thanks for the beautiful pictures and spring inspiration...I know it will be here soon. We've gone from snow to sleet to rain in the past 3 days and it's not about to stop anytime soon. I think I'm moving to the Arctic by you and Biita where spring comes earlier than it does here in Wisconsin!

Thank you all. The Erythronium is a garden plant here, and we're so happy to have them. Kaseylib, it's only Biita who's living in the arctic. I'm at Anchorage latitude. :D We owe it all to the gulf stream.

    Wow...and WOW again!.
Well, they may have been a long time in coming, but when they DID come, they were a veriatable rainbow of colour.
Those are great fotos of very pretty flowers. What a nice variety you have, Droopy.
Ahhhh... and the Erythroniums have opened up. The soft yellow of the Caltha is quite lovely, isn't it?
Well thanks very much for yiour pics. They are stimulating and give me hope for the coming spring.
    Well done, miss.

Thanks Sjoerd. I'm so looking forward to the Primula every year. They rarely let me down. I'm on the look-out for the double yellow Caltha too. Don't quite know where to put it, though.
