Hi everyone; This is probably the first time I've joined a forum after just reading a few posts. People on here are such a warm and friendly group that seems willing to help in any way and those needing help being most appreciative and not afraid to ask. I live in SW Louisiana. Hurricane Rita erased all signs of what even resembled landscaping, gardens or even a home. The home is rebuilt. The garage is under construction. The yard still shows signs that a hurricane stopped by. I really miss my landscape but it's time to start fresh and get on with it. I'm looking forward to using your experience, ideas and suggestions as my guide to an even better gardening experience.
Welcome to the Stew ejagno, from mid-Norway. I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself here. I'm looking forward to sharing your progress.

Hi Ejagno and welcome from the Norwegian Artic. The people here will surely help in anything they can, an they really know what they are talking about. I'm sorry for the loss of your home an grounds. I used to live in tornado alley in Alabama an also on the coast in Gulf Shores, so i understand the effects of natural destruction,, but never ever ever to the extent that you have had. But now its time to rebuild an you have come to the best site on the web as far as i am concerned... so jump right in, an make yourself at home.
Hi ejagno, welcome to the Stew from north Texas. Glad to have you with us. Living in tornado alley myself, I often wonder what I would do if I had to start over after a storm, scary thought at my age. Anyway, hope we can help out.
Hello ejagno! Here in the Cape Fear area of N.C., we watch every developing hurricane very closely, and we feel such a closeness to all of the folks who cope with the powerful and destructive force and devastating aftermath. Our hearts have truly been there with you all. My hubby and I also have family in Houma and Metarie, and have been keeping track of the area's recovery. It's wonderful to have you with us, I look forward to celebrating your new gardens with you!
Welcome ejagno to the Stew. I live in Lufkin TX and we got the tail end of Rita. I can't even begin to imagine the wrath you suffered. Glad you are getting back to some semblance of normal. You'll really enjoy the Stew. Lots of friendly and knowledgeable folks here.
Welcome from Wisconsin. Good luck rebuilding and with your new landscape dreams. It must be so tough to start over. I was devastated here when we lost a huge pine, over 100 years old, to a tornado a few years ago. Luckily, though, the rest of my yard survived the storm.
Welcome from rainy Washington! So sorry to hear about your home, but this is a great place to get started rebuilding your garden! folks around here are still cleaning up from a double whammy of hurricane-force winds and widespread flooding (o, and a tornado this afternoon!) so be assured my sympathy is most sincere!
