It's here! By the time we got the battery charged, it was starting to get dark, but we still had to give the new camera a test run. It's a Nikon D40, and our expensive macro lens from our N80 does work with the D40 (but only manual/no auto focus). The lens that came with the D40 does work with auto focus, so not a big deal that our macro lens only works on manual setting.

I'm sure our photos will improve once we learn the new camera, but it's sure nice not to have to buy or develop film already. :stew2: OK...enough blabbing, here's a few pics that we took to test the camera.

Lovely shots and big congratulations! Isn't it nice to have something new to play with? I've been told the Nikon D40 is a good camera, please tell me how you find it. Is it good to hold? Not too bulky or heavy? Are the controls easy to learn?

Fantastic photographs!! The D40 is the camera my eldest son uses and it's like a third arm to him - goes absolutely everywhere with him. You are going to have soooo much fun playing with it. :-D
