I cleaned up the front corner bed on Friday and put down mulch. The Yarrow, one Monarda, a small piece of Lamb's Ear and some Iris leaves are still green. The red Mums in the two hangers on the fence panels have a lot of new green leaves too.

And surprise, surprise...one of the Black Hollyhocks I planted last fall has started coming up...yeeehaaaw

Nothing colorful out there yet, but I think I will have to get a couple flats of Pansies to liven things up.

It looks so warm there compared to my frozen landscape! It is melting though, and yesterday I discovered my three Green Spice Coral Bells, out from under the snowcover! They have a pretty red/green variegated foliage. Coral Bells tend to stay during winter, unlike most of my perennials which go completely dormant and disappear till spring.

Oh it's soooo good to see things beginning to grow again!! Your garden is going to be even lovlier Toni when everything flowers.
I discovered my first snowdrops today, now that the snow is finally melting, and even some daffodils pushing up through the frozen ground. Spring is on it's way!!!! :D

You lucky so-and-so! *mumbles* I'm glad you get to play in the dirt, and yes, I'm getting impatient here. No sign of spring for me yet. We've got lamb's ears outside too, but I won't see them for a few weeks so I'm glad I can see yours. :D

We've had some rain in yesterday melting some snow but it'll be still be a few more months till spring is actually here for me.
Your yard look great-those lambs ear, hmm, I think I have some but I've also noticed some that I thought were just wild ones or maybe just weeds, Woul;d there be a 'look a like' lambs ears? I ask because I'll have some with a purple flower but then the others just stay as leaves. Do you think your Holly Hock will flower this year. I should have 1 or 2 this year I'm hoping at least one of them should flower. Can't wait for spring I think It should be right around-----THAT corner. :)

Glad my green brought some hope of Spring to you all :-D
Our new weather forecast for the end of this week is for below freezing temps and possibly more sleet and snow on Friday...Spring just got a kick in the pants for us I guess.

Petunia, Stachys byzantina (Lamb's Ears) does have pinkish/purple flowers on tall stems in spring and maybe thru the summer in warmer climates.
I doubt that the Hollyhock will bloom this year but I have heard that if you plant them in the late summer/early fall they might bloom the next year. But then I have three in the north garden that are at least three years old and they have never gotten more than 10 inches tall and never bloomed  [/url]
