I have never been happy with our front yard landscaping. We took out a large magnolia last year and all the other shrubs were over grown. We hired a local landscaping company to do the work. We are very pleased with the results.

The plants used were Bloodgood Japanese Maple, otto luyken laurels, limemound spirea and soft touch holly.

Wow Gail, now that's a makeover!! Much more of an eye grabber than the previous planting. Congratulations on the great choices. Definitely inspiring!

The front of the house now looks so much bigger and brighter Gail. The planting is lovely and well thought out. You certainly picked a good company to do the work for you. :-D

Thanks all for your comments. This is the first time I have hired anyone to do my garden work but we just were not up to digging all that up and getting rid of it. Most of the plants I really like need shade and this is in full sun most of the day. It looks so nice with the fresh mulch I may not even plant any flowers out front this year, just containers for the front porch. :stew2:

They did a great job! I know what you mean about not being up to digging all that old stuff out ... my back gets sore just thinking about it!
