We liked the laminate in our bedroom so much we decided to get laminate flooring for the living room and dining room. "We" also decided to have it professionally installed since one of us said, "never again!" Laminate is lovely, but the bedroom did him in. Here is our living room floor. We'll eventually roll out one of our 8'x5' oriental style rugs for the center of the room, but right now we are enjoying the wood look!
That looks fantastic Jane!! Did you find that your room seemed to 'grow' after the laminate was laid? Ours seemed so much larger after the carpet was lifted and the laminate took its place. Your going to love it even more as time goes on as it's so easy to care for.

Looks great Jane. Give you kitty something to chase around. My cats have a ball of aluminum foil they chase all over my floors. It's fun to watch.
Thank you all for the kind comments! Netty, we use the wood stove perhaps a dozen times a year--if the electricity goes out or if we're in the mood for a wood fire. The clock on top of the stove will return to its place on a side table, as soon as we get the side table back in its place! Donna, Feliz loved to chase a ball of wadded paper. We had her for 14 years, and she was playful right to the end, just a bit slower. We still miss her.
Nice floor! We've got a wood floor in the living room and laminate in two bedrooms. I'm going for more laminate as we continue to decorate. It's easy to care for and looks good too.
Looks really good!! Paige and William just had laminate floors installed in the entirety of their downstairs, replacing a combination of linoleum, carpet and older, cheaper laminate. They love it too!
@marlingardener it looks really nice and warm in look and your woodstove triggers the look also ...when we moved here 11yrs ago this year we brought laminate we thought in Spanish red...when hubby was putting it down the hedges was chipping, so he used wood to wood, it's got notches in it. Do you find it better regarding cleaning as I do?...I use bleech in hot water
