We were wandering thru an 'antique' shop one day on our weekend away and look what I found. Has all the parts and complete instructions. Made in West Germany. 16" long x 11"wide x 13" tall ( photo / image / picture from toni's Garden ) Also with it was the envelope it was mailed in to a lady in Lubbock, Tx. Evidently someone she knew went to Germany in Feb 1965, bought this for her and when they got back home to El Paso, Tx they mailed it to her. We have looked around on the web and can find only two sites that mention the Mabu-Loom but they are in German and won't upload so we can get them translated to see what they have to say. Evidently it was never exported to the U.S. but I was wondering if any of our European members have ever seen or heard of one?
I have never seen them by the German company but the Navajo Indians sell something similar in their trading post shops. dooley
I can't find anything at all about your loom either Toni but it's a real beauty? What are you going to weave on it?
Eileen I can make pretty much anything I want on it, as long as it isn't wider than about 7 inches I am thinking maybe bookmarks to learn with. If they come out okay, I can make some for gifts.
You must let us see the bookmarks you make Toni. I wish I still had the loom I had as a young girl. I miss weaving scarfs and table runners etc. Of course my loom was a tad larger than yours is.
I have some real cute coasters 41/2 x 5 I bought at a craft fair. They were made on a loom similar to that. I have not been able to find any since then wannabe
