I have been playing out in the shop this week, trying to develop a couple new things. One is a copper wreath that will be wrapped with colored LED lights. I also have a new trellis. I have a pointed top on one and will have a round top on the other to see what people prefer. The other is a flower pot trellis which I can build in different heights and sizes also. I am working on building a barn wood and copper picture frame that I have several ideas for. If anyone has any suggestions, I would love to here them. Great projects GDC, I really like the copper wreath. I once saw a copper trellis that looked really great with a climbing rose. The copper had aged and turned greenish and the red blooms looked fabulous against it.
I could do with some of your copper trellis's here in Scotland as they are so much stronger than anything I can buy. I really like the look of the pointed top one and am already imagining what it would look like with a clematis or rose growing on it. :-D The wreathe is beautiful and is going to be fantastic ones the LED lights are set in place. As for the copper picture frame it's something I would definitely have and your choice of picture compliments it really well.
Thanks Netty, I appreciate the input. It helps me know if I am actually doing something creative or just creating a bunch of junk. Thanks GDC.
Thank you Eileen. I too like old barns and cabins. I want my picture frames to be rustic, but different. I am going to use some rusty barbed wire also.
Absolutely gorgeous GDC. Oooooh, a red Clematis on a cooper trellis would look stunning. I would like to make a suggestion....I believe you really need a product tester and gladly volunteer for that position.
Sorry ladies, I have already volunteered and been accepted! :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D Seriously!! Doyle, I love the wreath and the picture frame. I have always been intrigued by old barns. I have several pieces of furniture made from old barns. If I could afford to start over, I would have all rustic furniture. Your ideas are awesome! Love the trellis also. How about a windmill ??????????
You are a talented person.I want them all as I love those trellises and I think kountygal has a great idea about the windmills.I would love a trellis that looks like a windmill but the top stays still so a vine or rose can cover it.
Glenda that's a great idea. I was thinking of the regular windmill, but wondered if that would realistic. So one that was stationery, would be fantastic. Now we just have to figure out when we will go to Tennessee to pick these items up!
I like all of your pieces but especially the trellis'. I think they would be so pretty against my stucco walls or mounted as a screen on my porch. The copper color would add a little sparkle to a garden if you were to coat it with something to keep it from developing the patina.... BUT the verdigris patina is so pretty too... who could ever choose. Anyway, you're very talented and creative.
Copper is a much better hue in the garden than steel. The nex-best thing is rusted iron. I'd love to see that trellis planted up. You're a lucky chap, both the imagination and the talent.
Everything looks great. I love the picture frame, anything with mixed media catches my eye. I know they make a copper "tape" to go around pots to keep snails out, perhaps you can fashion some sort of decorative pot "rim" ?
Thanks Cuatro, sorry I took so long to reply. We have been dodging tornado's this week here in Tennessee. I appreciate the ideas from the Stew. My honey doo list is growing
