One of my cousins has been wanting a veggie garden. But he says his soil isn't as good as ours. So, he & hubby decided to start a garden together here.
I think it's more like a field than a garden! But I won't be complaining when the harvest begins!

If you look REALLY hard you can see one bell pepper plant and one jalapeno plant!
And oh yeah... that's my hubby hoeing around on me! :-D
(sure hope I don't get in trouble with that last comment)

Nothing do to with me Netty... I wasn't even at home when they did it!
I'm beginning to like it... the "boys" will be busy over there and leave me alone to me and my flowers! :p

Yeah, like you'll be able to stay out of a veggie garden! We believe that in an instant.
Your soil looks good; you certainly have lots of space; so what do the boys intend to plant?
It's a little late in your region for the early spring crops (lettuce, broccoli, spinach, peas) but you can still get in some chard, lots of green and wax beans, squash, corn, tomatoes, peppers and okra.
Better start reading up on freezing and canning!

Oh my just think of all the lovely produce you can grow on that amount of land.
If you ever need someone to help you gather the crops in then I could make myself available. ;) I'll lay bets that you'll soon be giving a helping hand to your hubby and cousin - what gardener could resist?

Jane and Eileen... I will do my best to stay out of their way! :D
It's funny... my cousin just showed up so they could make plans on what to plant.
So... whatever they decide to plant is fine with me.
Maybe my assistance will come when it's time to distribute the harvest among our family.
And I do know how to can... so maybe I'll do that... or better yet... I'll teach them how! :-D

That is gonna produce some serious veggies. You may have enough room for a motocross jump there!

Your cousin will not lack for veggies once the new 'farm' gets to producing. Nice veggie patch. It will be interesting to see what it looks like 90 days from now. Congratulations to your hubby.

Holey moley, what a garden!! Don't forget to stick some herb plants out there too. Basil, Rosemary, Cilantro and Sage will make those veggies extra tasty.

I'm not allowed to help (which is okay with me) but I have ways of slipping in suggestions! ;)
Good thing my cousin & wife have a great relationship... otherwise there might be trouble with him spending every non-working hour over here!
    :D
He showed up today with fertilizer and a bunch of seeds. I left him & hubby alone and went about my chores with the flowers.
I do believe I'm really gonna love this veggie garden!

Hopefully they will love it when it comes to mid-summer and weeding or you might have it on your to-do list afterall.

I made my stance right from the start. I'll help pass the harvest along... and even lend a hand with canning/freezing. Weeding all of that? You kidding me? I have flower beds to tend to!! :D
Actually... they're taking such pride in it being an "all guy thing" I doubt they'd want a girl in their way. ;)

What a spread! That looks great, Cheryl.
If you get that full, you will be eating good veg for months to come....better go and get a deep freeze, girl.

Funny you mention the freezer... last night, they were talking about chipping in and getting one!
