    This guy has been coming to the feeder the past two days. But this morning is the first I was able to get a pic. He is the one responsible for the holes in the trees that weaken them so the wind breaks off the tops!

    He's lovely! I'd let him make holes in my trees any day. I think. :D

    We have a lot of them in our area too...don't understand why they call them red-bellied sapsuckers as there is more red on their heads.

    And his belly is white too! Whoever named him was colorblind!

    My son would love to have a few sapsuckers in his garden. He has to pay someone to come and chop the tops off his trees every few years.
