These words might have been written just for me!!!!!

    (Adaped from the Beatles hit.)

    YESTERDAY.

    Yesterday,
All those backups seemed a waste of pay.
Now my database has gone away.
    Oh I believe in yesterday.

    Suddenly,
There's not half the files there used to be,
And there's a milestone hanging over me.
    The system crashed so suddenly.

    I pushed something wrong.
What it was I could not say.
Now all my data's gone and I long for yesterday-ay-ay-ay.

    Yesterday,
The need for back-ups seemed so far away.
I knew my data was all here to stay,
Oh how I long for yesterday.

    Good isn't it? :D :D

    Thanks to CA.

My daughter and hubby used to tease me unmercifully about printing things out and writing things down that I wanted to keep.....afterall, that's what the files on the computer are for, use them and join computer literate in the modern world, they said.

My computer crashed for the first time almost three years ago. My hubby spent hours retrieving and reinstalling everything he could. But he was really sad to have to tell me that he lost all my email addresses, favorite websites with their passwords, my favorite gardening and knitting sites. He couldn't retrieve them and evidently the file I kept them in was unretrievable too.

Silly boy, I opened the filing cabinet top drawer, pulled out the folder with all that information written down and printed out and started entering things back in.

They don't say anything about my writing things down anymore.

Good story Toni. There's a moral there somewhere.

I have never had my hard disk crash (touch wood) but I have had friends that it has happened to and the thought of it scares me to death  That's why I always make sure I keep a backup somewhere.

And folks just so you know if anything should happen to the computer that our beloved GardenStew.com resides on then fear not... I keep daily backups of all our lovely informative posts :D

Great post by the way Eileen!
