Hello everyone! I'm new to the site, though I've heard great things about it from my mother. I've just moved out on my own not long ago, so I don't yet have much experience with gardening, but I'm hoping that will soon change!

More about me, well, my boyfriend and I have got a dog (Dingo) and a cat (Prince). They're our babies, as I'm sure anyone with pets can relate.
I'm a very active person. I run, bike, kayak, and travel, among other things. I'm currently in school to be a dental hygienist.
My mother's user name is Petunia. She's fairly new, I believe.
In response to Droopy's question, I can't say as that I really have any gardening tasks at the moment. We've got a landscaping project on our hands at the moment, but with winter soon approaching, it will likely be set aside until spring.
I'm sure many of you have shared personal information time and time again, but if you'd like to tell a bit about yourselves, it may help me to get to know you as well!

As you wish. I'm married, three girls, one grand-daughter, two cats, two horses (ponies, and three at the moment but the foal is already sold), garden maniac with a tendency to hibernate during winter, and with lots of hobby craft projects to keep me busy all year round.

Welcome [IMG] redrose, from the southeast corner of N. Carolina.

I was a graphic designer who decided to "go island"
when we moved to the coast about 20 years ago.
So now I'm a part-time water aerobics instructor, and a full-time, certified plant nerd. [IMG]

    Hi Redrose,
I'm a retired gardener...we used to have 40 acres of land with about 7 of them in grass and gardens, but we moved to a condo. I have every inch of my common area in plants so I'm happy now.
My husband and I are art teachers, and we do a lot of travelling teaching gourd crafting at gourd shows.
We do an annual show in Raleigh NC every Sept. cause my son and his wife live there.

    Hi redrose

A warm welcome to you. I am also rather new and I already found that even if I do nothing else when using my computertime, I feel myself compelled to visit the stew and enjoy the chatting. Could the stew be "addictive"??

I feel the urge to answer your question, Palm Tree. Yes! I've been in every day since I signed up. Maybe the admin team should place a warning on the front page: "Stew membership is addictive and may lead to too many hours on the computer and lots of new knowledge and good internet friends!"

Or perhaps a government health warning like those slapped on a pack of smokes:

"THE STEW CAN TAMPER WITH YOUR BRAIN WAVES"

Speaking of Stew addiction here is a topic I think you will enjoy:

:smt005 Oh, Frank, that link made my stomach muscles ache even worse than they did! I confess to a lot of the things listed in that thread, but I haven't dreamed of any of you yet. I have had dreams about members of a discussion forum I'm on, though...
