Hey, everyone. I'm currently a college student, but i've been gardening and growing flowers for a while now. I love the outdoors and with my mother being flower crazy (there's almost no lawn left around the house lol) and my father loving to raise vegetable gardens, the joy of growing plants just came to me honest. Even now my apartment has flowers in just about every spot the sun comes through, which i guess is maybe odd for a young guy lol, but oh well. I'm really looking forward to being able to learn a lot of stuff from everyone on here and be able to just share our love for gardening.

Welcome and enjoy. Oh yeh, I am one of those crazy gardeners where there is no lawn left around the house :D Always share photos of your success and failures with plants. We love to see them. ;)

Thanks for the warm welcome... Its funny, my dad use to always complain about having to always help my mom plant flowers cause she's so nit picky about things such as which way the flower is turned in the ground, but now he likes to help her plant flowers cause the more she plants the less mowing he has to do lol.

Hi Brent, welcome to GardenStew from north Texas. Lots to learn and enjoy here.

The only lawn area left here is the strip between the sidewalk and street and that will be gone hopefully this spring. The rest of the front and back yards are planted with pretties and more being added almost daily. My hubby gave away the riding mower last year and was thrilled to do it.

A warm welcome Brent from Scotland in the UK. I must be just like you mother as I have to have all my plants facing the right way in my own garden. Who wants plants having their best sides facing a wall or a fence anyway? Well my husband would but I soon put him right as well as the plants. ;) I hope you'll show us some photographs of the flowers you have as we enjoy seeing what everyone else can grow. :-D

Brent welcome from Wisconsin. The apple as they say doesn't fall to far from the tree. Glad you caught your families love of the outdoors. So glad you found this oh so friendly and informative garden community. Looking forward to see your plants you now have growing. I have a lot of spaces I would like to fill in with plants so we also will not have so much lawn to mow. Makes less of a carbon foot print and is so good for our feathered friends. Have a super blessed week. :stew1:

    Hello Brent
Welcome to Gardenstew from southern Ontario!
My goal is to have more garden than lawn too - the less grass Hubby has to cut, the less whining he'll do ;)
