    That is interesting Toni--I am aware of this "spontaneous combustion" thing as my compost bin goes right to the edge every year. When I turn it, I can often see ash and smoke arising.
    The lady just up from us had a big fire one year as her un-enclosed compost heap burst into flame and the fire department had to come out and extinguish it.
    The farmers here have that problem from time to time if they put their hay away too moist.

    It can be a scary thing when it takes off....hard to put out.

    Wow!
    I remember once when the manure pile at work spontaneously combusted. The fire department had to come back twice to get the fire put out!
