I went to hang this fall "Welcome" sign by the back door.

And I found this guy setting right where I wanted to hang it!

I love to see praying mantis. My son and his family moved to the country and have lots of trees and bushes--and big and small mantis. wannabe

I love the little critter. We don't have so many here, but every once in awhile, I see one. They are pretty! I do like bugs...well, most of them anyway.

He is a nice one. I see them once in a while, but then again, I'm not home much. I do see a lot of lizards, which is surprising considering the number of cats we have.

I haven't seen one of those in ages. I like the welcome sign too. Reminds me I had better get my fall stuff out.

Capt maybe he didn't want you to hang up the Welcome sign? "Get off my property" is what he was thinking. Delusions of grandeur methinks :D

Wonderful shot of the mantis CK. I'm always astonished at just how colourful they are.

I like to see those bugs as I know they are healthy for any garden. It took me back years to when I lived in New York as a kid. I woke up one morning to hear my brother Denny laughing out loud in his bedroom. I went in and his bed, dresser and walls were covered with tiny little praying mantis's. He had brought in a sort of egg case some time before and it had hatched overnight. He awoke to find himself covered with these little fellows, We carefully captured them and took them outside. dr

Wow, how great is that! Daughter number one has a couple of stick insects (called leaf and ivy) and they really are quite amazing!
