At my beach, during pitch dark, (at high tide). Smartphone camera ISO set to it's maximum value (3200). Exposure time set to 4 seconds. Looking towards the East. Lights at the far left are an apartment complex, a few kilometers away. The beach and ocean wasn't clearly visible from the naked eyes, (just way too dark). Looking towards South. Again, only thing visible from the naked eyes were the lights of those ships on the horizon - Parked at the outer anchorage, and a few waves crashing could be seen. The light in the sky is a star, but it too wasn't easy to see by eye. Looking at West. Lights in the distance over here are from the Karachi Harbor and container storage area. These lights really aren't all that bright, as far as the eye can see. But I guess this is what astronomers are always complaining about - When they mention "light pollution"... Anyhow, this last picture below is taken during daytime, (at a time when the sky was overcast) - From the exact same position and angle as the 3rd picture above. This is to show how the beach looks at high tide during the day.
