Nighttime tales, the last battle.

    An early morning walk around the garden can tell a lot about the unseen nocturnal activities of nighttime creatures. Footprints, digging, munched greenery, even scat tells of activities while we are otherwise occupied. This morning I came across a creatures last stand. Like General Custer it was its last battle. The victims ID remains unsolved but the scene speaks much.

    Looks like a cat made short work of that bird. I find circles of feathers in the garden quite often and know that the Sparrow Hawks have been visiting for an easy meal.

    A couple months ago I also found a patch of feathers. From some of the red fluffy feathers, I determined they once belonged to a Robin. Better than the beheaded rabbit I found once! Ewwww...
