I had a doctor visit with the oncologist at 11:30 this morning. Just a routine follow up visit. I don't like going to doctors and was happy I was about to get it done with. But, before we got to to the highway we had a flat tire. I thought at first it was the bumpy road from all the rain we've had but soon decided it was more than that. Due to several things it took us a bit to get it changed to the spare. We were down to less than an hour to get there. I always leave earlier so I won't be late. Anyway, we got started again and got about twelve or fifteen miles on down the highway and got stopped in a line of traffic and detoured around a fatal accident that had the road closed. By the time we crawled through that we decided we'd never make it so I called and they rescheduled it for Jan. 29th. We went back to town and bought a new tire. Great start to the day. BUT, the sun was shining and it got up to 60 degrees and our day was so much better than those who were involved in the accident. We can still go to the doctor and we have a new tire. dooley
Isn't it frustrating when you have to be somewhere at a certain time and everything seems to be working against you? I hate having to cancel an appointment and re-make it for another time. At least it's not too long to wait. I hope it's good news again and that when you get your check-up on the 29th everything will be in your favour.
Thanks, Eileen! It's just frustrating to wait and than have to reschedule. I'm not expecting bad news but there's always that thought in the back of your mind, you know. dooley
Dooley, I am glad you were safe and sound... Sad for whoever was involved in the accident, though. Hopefully your next trip and visit will be all good!
Seems a flat not only deflates the tire.... but all your hopes for the day. But... at least you had nice weather.
Dooley, sorry about the flat and the delay. Very frustrating for you, but think of the poor doctor and nurses--they thought they were going to get to see you today and then, poof, all their hopes went down the drain. Ah, well, at least they have the 29th to look forward to--they'll see you, give you good news, and everyone will smile!
I first thought of that Donna but heard that it was about 9:30 am and we didn't leave home until 10 am. It may have kept us out of the worst of the traffic though. It's really sad about the accident. One of the fatalities was a young man in early 20's just starting with a family. dooley
Sad, Dooley. It reminds me of my brothers accident and his birthday was this past Monday. I can hardly believe he has been gone for 23 years now. His baby would have been 23, too if he had survived the accident, too. Prayers for his family, though.
