Haven't seen any Monarch butterflys this year here at my place. Havent seen any Swallowtails either. We had some of the blue & black butterflies in the spring, but they are gone now. We have the white and yellow Fritilarys and and some orange & brown small ones, but that's it. I was out by the Autumn Joy a minute ago and not a single Monarch. Usually there will be 4 or 5 on them.

I have had plenty of Monarchs lately. We were watering our yard and had some Monarchs and a black swallowtail keep landing in the water mist and on the ground. I hated to shut it off...Maybe next year for you...Sherry

It's been so wet here again this summer that I've hardly seen any butterflies at all until today. One red admiral braved the Scottish temperatures and showed itself for a while as the sun came out briefly though.

Two years ago we had plenty of admirals, last year I didn't see any, probably due to the bad summer. This year they are back, and they are sooo lovely. :D I hope your monarchs will show up soon, Capt.

Both July and Aug. have been extremely dry and that is probably the reason.
