Something strange happened when my husband and I were having lunch at a chain restaurant. A man walked up to a table where another man and two teen-age children were sitting, and proceeded to photograph them and their food on his cell phone. The father (presumably) stood up and told the stranger (presumably) to erase those photos. He refused, the manager intervened, some sort of identification was presented by both adults, and the upshot was the photos were erased and the intruder was escorted out. We are still confused about what we saw--any ideas?
Jane I know I'd have objected if someone had done that to me and would have wanted the photographs erased. Maybe he was from an advertising agency and thought taking shots of 'real' people eating in the chain restaurant would be good for business. However, he really should have asked permission before he started to film the family.
I'm thinking one of the looneys in todays world who doesn't like what people eat, especially what parents allow their kids to eat, who planned on using the photos in some sort of protest of the bad eating habits of teenagers.
Eileen, I hadn't thought of the photographer being an ad person--it makes sense, but you would think there would be some sort of waiver, permission involved. There might be fine print on the menu saying that if you order, you are likely to be photographed! Toni, the looney theory works, also. I know I've disapproved of what some children eat, and I'm relatively sane! Of course, I don't take photos.
I must be very suspicious as I wouldn't want my teenagers pictures take by any stranger. There's just to many weird people around now days.
Single father out with his kids ... mother wondering what he is feeding the kids? Haha I always come up with the strangest things ...
