The weather report from coastal mid-Norway says no snow at all, fresh breeze, dry but cloudy and we've got flowers.

Finally, Iris "Kathrine Hodgkin" managed to come out:

I like botanical crocus. They're smaller than the big purple, white and yellow ones, but have such nice colours. I'll post them as soon as they show their pretty faces.

Beautiful blossoms Droopy. Those Iris are gorgeous, don't know that I have seen them offered for sale anywhere, not even the catalogs I get so many of.

I read somewhere that if you do some planning, you can have Iris blooming every month from January thru June.
I need to do that kind of planning.

Thank you glendann. When do you need to be reminded of the crocus? I'm not good at remembering stuff for myself, but if all stewers know somebody might remember to remind you.

Thank you toni. I got my first K. H. from a bulbs specialist in southern Norway, and suddenly they were everywhere, so I bought more. I rarely have two of the same kind, but I think this one's so special.

Please share your blooming Iris planning if you ever get it done. I might not get them from January, but I might have them from March through August instead.

We plant most bulbs in autumn, but it might be different in Texas. I found some blooming ones in a flower shop last spring, and planted them out when we came home.

Glenda here they have to be planted in the fall since they normally bloom in January/February. If you find them in pots at a garden center, you could enjoy them now then plant the bulbs in dappled shade this fall.

Thanks for posting-love the color of your iris. I do hope my crocus still bloom. The leaves are there but I think the rabbits have chewed on them, so not sure if they will bud out or not. Yours seem to be doing very nice.

Thank you petunia. We haven't got any rabbits bar the tame ones, and the slugs are still under-ground, so the spring flowers usually get to do their blooming in peace. I hope yours will come up too.

My goodness, Droopy...don't you have the lovely flowers. That iris is something else! What a remarksble plant that is. The picture is supurb...really a nice pic of this very unusual flower. The crocuses are good to see as well... so fresh-looking and healthy.
Thank you very much for these fotos.
