Just so you don't think I have been ignoring you all, our telephone lines went down 10 days ago, and today is the first time they are back on!!

It seems a bunch of gypsies stole the copper telephone wires, leaving our entire village without telephones, so of course, no internet. British Telecom have taken an age to get things back to normal, but, appart from a sporadic internet connection, we seem to be back, so now I have to catch up with you all.

Hope this message finds you all well.

    Welcome back EJ!
Boy, we had some copper thefts here too, but it was from the switches on the train tracks. Very dangerous indeed and they had to suspend train travel until it was fixed.

Glad you have phone service back EJ.

Copper theft was a major problem here last year. They were stripping apart air conditioner condensers at schools, churches, homes where people were on vacation, on units that were located on the roof of offices.
If the scrap metal companies will stop buying it, people will stop stealing it. Local companies finally started requiring proper ID from anyone selling it and the thefts have basically stopped.

Oh dear I thought you were having fun digging in the dirt EJ. It's going to be difficult for the police to do much with those gypies but I hope they can make an arrest.
