    anyone else gonna have one???

    I don't eat Turkey
BF doesn't fix one because most of it would go to waste before he ate it all..
and he has become very sentimental about us eating the same menu for the hollerdays
so we are gonna have grilled Lamb chops and who knows what else

    probably spinach and another veggie...
(wish I had some cheater bread..that would be perfect)
Probably have some garlic Texas toast
I might have cottage cheese (he doesn't touch the stuff)...

Your thanksgiving menu sounds great to me Bluewolf. We don't have a traditional Christmas meal here as none of us like turkey much. Much better to have something that everyone will enjoy than have good food go to waste.
    Happy Thanksgiving. :-D

On the years when we have found the three of us spending thanksgiving without other family, we have either gone out to eat or I bake some Cornish Game Hens and we each have our favorite veggies.

But this year we are with a bunch of family who expects the traditional turkey, mashed potatoes, yams with marshmallows on top (ick) and other veggies. The only traditional food we are not having this year is pumpkin pie, Lisa is making an apple pie and brownies and I have making a Cherry-o Cheesecake pie and a Fudge Pecan pie.

Christmas dinner is going to be steaks cook out on the grill, potatoes and salad. I am really tired of Ham for christmas dinner.

There are only 3 of us for the Hoildays so we buy the smallest fresh turkey we can find. This year it is a 12 pounder. I cut it in half and we have half for Thanksgiving and the rest for Christmas. The left over we freeze and then fix them as turkey and noodles. Not a soup but so thick you have to use a fork.

We use turkey for New Year's Eve since we don't celebrate Thanksgiving here in Norway. I must manage to photograph the Christmas food this year. I keep forgetting.

After 13 years working in Norbests processing plant {Turkey Plant} I DO NOT eat Turkey. If the public could see the stuff that is done to and put into there Turkeys? lets just say no one would eat there birds ever again, As for the term FRESH! according to the USDA it is considered fresh as long as it is not frozen below 0*. So your fresh bird has been frozen just not below 0*. They are then shipped to the stores and there they are put out to thaw and be sold as FRESH Turkeys. The smoked birds are actually injected with smoke flavoring and then cooked, then the outside is "SPRAYED" with liquid smoke. Not real smoked just flavored like one. No Thanksgiving in my house this year! Just not much to be thankful for this year, been a very bad year for me. Just want to get it over.
You all please have a happy one and thank you all for being so great!

We don't celebrate Thanksgiving either in the UK, but we tend to have a slightly different Christmas dinner. This year we are having duck breasts, which I will griddle until just done. We will still have the roast spuds and brussel sprouts, but we don't like Christmas pud very much either, so a cheesecake and a trifle then lots of lovely cheese and crackers. MMM. Wishing you all a lovely Thanksgiving, whatever you are eating! :)

We don't do too many "traditional" holiday dinners. For Thanksgiving, I made a huge pot of gumbo with shrimp, chicken and sausage (home-made by one of my cousins) served with a baked sweet potato (with lots of butter!) on the side.
Yummm! Can't wait to get off work to have some more!

I had mushroom fettucine and red cabbage with salad dressing for Thanksgiving, so nothing too traditional there! I never eat turkey for the holidays; I just can't imagine being a bird lover and eating chicken or turkey.
