This is Noodles. When we lived down the hill this little dog adopted us. His owner died and no one else gave him any attention so he started showing up at our house. I finally put a food and water bowl out for him. He guarded them zealously. He went home at night and in the morning I would see him threading his way through the fence and garden to the patio. He'd stay. Once in awhile he would show up with a new haircut. dr took his picture one day. He didn't much like thunderstorms either. We had a good storm one evening. We usually had our door open. One morning we got up and started to dress. Here come Noodles out from under our bed. He'd been there all evening and stayed the night. He was so quiet we didn't even realize he'd been inside. He was about 18 years old and went deaf and blind. He just stopped coming one day. I expect he died or they had him put down. They were not the kind of neighbors you could ask about him. We still miss him. One day here a little dog that looked like him showed up and stayed just one day. We never saw it again. Dooley

Touching story Dooley, perhaps the dog that showed up one day was Noodles incarnate? Did you get quite a shock when he popped his head out from under the bed?

Aww, [IMG] What a precious pup.
I'm so happy that Noodles had such loving friends.
What a testament to how much he trusted you,
taking shelter from the storm with you.

Noodles also fiercely defended our property as though it was his own. For his size, he had a large bark. A very good fellow all together.

He looks like he was a sweetie pie.

We had a dog named Noodles, found her in the cow pasture at the head of the road. Someone put her in there with a bowl of milk. Guess it was the person who owned the pasture. He probably never gave it a second thought when she disappeared. She was an excellent dog and I cried on her shoulder many a time. May her and your Noodles are playing in heaven.
