    This morning was cold, but for about 15 minutes, the sky was amazing.

    As I put these two into a photo folder entitled "sky",
    I was struck by how they contrasted with two I took
    one evening last May as a big storm was developing.

    There's a name for those popcorn clouds and I don't remember it, but aren't they at once gorgeous and foreboding?

    Culumus clouds are also called popcorn clouds. Really pretty pictures ZZ, those storm clouds look very eerie. I have seen those many times in spring just before taking cover under a mattress in the bathtub :eek:

    Great pictures and the contrast is amazing. Were they taken in the same location?
