At long last I've managed to sort through my photographs and have chosen some I think you may like.

This is the cottage we stayed in. It had 2 bedrooms, 1 double and one with two single beds. The bathroom had a corner shower which was ideal. There was also an open plan livingroom/diningroom/kitchen. Full central heating and a gas fired wood stove to boot!!

On arrival the owners of the cottage had left this basket of goodies for us. There was also a bottle of white wine and a large carton of milk in the 'fridge!!

This was the view we woke up to each morning. Just beautiful.

One night we returned to see this gorgeous sunset.

We had quite a few pheasants visiting us every morning - these are two that I managed to snap before they hopped off the fence and into the field.

There were Roe deer in the field too but I didn't manage to get them I'm afraid as it was always too dark when they came out to feed. The one thing I so happy about was that there were no midges so I didn't come home with lots of itchy bites. Maybe it was because there were lots of bats flying around feasting on them.

I'll make up a few posts with photographs as I don't want to add too many to each one.

Next one will be of the village we were staying in.

What a cosy-looking location Eils. And a delightful view to boot. I love seeing pheasants, always such a thrill :stew1:

What a lovely place to stay and a plus in getting to see the deer and pheasants! I'm looking forward to more pictures in your next posts.

Oh wow. What a blessing. Sounds like a really nice place to relax and unwind. In your one photo I was wondering if the purple on the far hillsides was heather? It is beautiful.
