OK here's some of the trains they had - many of them steam trains similar to the ones that I remember from my childhood. Yes I know I really am that old!!

I'll just post a few photographs to let you see. Ian and my eldest son are 'into' trains but, although I like to look at them, I don't have much of a clue otherwise. I did enjoy the ride we took on a steam train though which had been restored to pristine condition.

Oh, my, those trains and stations are lovely! Here in Texas we have a restored train and short line between two towns in East Texas. We hope to take an afternoon trip sometime. My husband just reminded me of the Grapevine Express, which travels from Ft. Worth to somewhere, and is an old-time train.

https://www.texasstaterr.com/ It runs from Rusk to Palestine and back again and is a blast to ride....except in the cold weather when you are riding in the open cars.
We rode it about 20 years ago when it was a bit more rustic, they seem to have prettified the whole thing since then.

http://www.grapevinetexasusa.com/grapevine-vintage-railroad/?gclid=CLTDmumx7ccCFQktaQodhIIJxg The Tarantula Train runs from Grapevine to the Stockyards in Fort Worth. Haven't ridden that one but it is supposed to be a lot of fun too.

Also the http://www.cedarparkfun.com/train/ has holiday special excursions and murder mystery evening events.

The trains and stations are great. I love to see anything that has been restored. A true glimpse of the past, which is often much nicer and prettier than today's models.

Seeing those trains reminds me of my trip to East Germany when I was a small girl ... Oma lived on the rail road track and next to the station. I loved to watch from the window and play I was the ticket seller haha
    Pretty garden :)

Eileen I love seeing them all. The restored dining car reminds me of the movie; Murder on the Orient Express starring Poirot's. I love all of Agatha Christies murder mysteries staring Poirot.
