The village we were staying in was called Goathland and was chosen to be the one that was used in the police series 'Heartbeat' set in the sixties. This is the main village street where most of the filming took place. The actual police car that was used. Another car that was driven by a female detective. Another of the cars used in the series. This is the famous Scrips garage that Claude Greengrass and David ran between them. Thought I'd put this one in here too as it's Rose Cottage - owned by the people we rented our cottage from. Part three - trains!!
I've never really watched much of Heartbeat Eils even though it has been on TV a lot. However I have admired the vehicles featured on it. The ones you posted look so clean and well-maintained. Is there an official Heartbeat tour?
Yes I believe there is Frank but we prefer to potter about on our own. I always find tours tend to hurry you along as they have to work to a timetable whereas we could spend as long as we wanted doing our own thing.
Eileen what special place to visit. Yes, I also hate those tacky tourist tours. We also like to putter along and do our own thing.
