Not exactly the kind of break I'd expected to have.

    Hi there everyone,

So sorry to have been gone for so long but I broke my heel while on a short break in the Lake District. It's been a very frustrating time as I wasn't allowed to put weight on my left foot and had to have it elevated at all times. I couldn't even make it upstairs to bed so had to sleep on my recliner chair each night. THEN just to top it all off the first plaster cast rubbed at the top of my foot which blistered badly and then became infected. Now I'm glad to say that everything is in the final stages and the second cast in now off and I can, at last, hobble about without to much pain.

I'm hoping to be able to get back here on a regular basis again in the near future as I've been missing you all dreadfully. I'm off to do my exercises now but will drop in again very soon.

Many thanks for all you get well wishes - they were very much appreciated. Ian read them all out to me and they certainly helped to lift my spirits.

Well, it's about time you got back with us! You have been terribly missed by everyone. Sorry to hear about the bad cast, sometimes the cure is worse than the bite....so to speak. But glad that all got treated and is healing.

Yippee! This note was so good to get from you. Sort of a light-at-the-end-of-the-tunnel moment.

Do hurry back, but don't rush it just because everything is looking up at the moment. Take yer toim.

This little note really made my day. :-D

I'm sorry to hear that you had a bad time with your cast. I had to have one changed on my arm once because it was rubbing and blood was coming out into my hand. Yuck! I'm glad to hear the second one is off and you are doing a lot better. Keep it up now! We miss you!

Oh, Yippee! Eileen is getting better and we'll have her riding herd on us soon (old Texas expression).
So very, very glad to hear you are on the mend. We missed you so very much. The Stew just wasn't quite the same without you.

Yeah! So glad to see you back posting Eils! :stew2: Great to hear you are on the mend. It's a real shame about your infection however - that was definitely something you could have done without.

My day just got better. Welcome back Eils :stew1:

Glad you are on the mend. When DH broke his leg many years ago. Had hardest time learning to walk with crutches. Now you have to know before you leave.
