Other than those yellow wildflowers all over there isn't too much blooming. The morning glories had finished and I've been pulling the vines a few at a time. This bush decided to bloom. I don't know what it is but it has white flowers. Rose of Sharon or Althea? white, purple or pink. There are a few of these bushes in the yard. Pink Oxalis growing around the trees. Marigolds and alyssum and a zinnia that something has been chewing on This pepper plant is growing in with the flowers. It has little yellow peppers about an inch or so long that will turn red. They were on the porch when we moved here and I swept them off the edge. There are several plants along in front of the house. I think they are hot but I haven't tried them. The butterfly and flowers are my favorite. Looks like Texas is cooling down and plants are reviving. It is fun hearing about the different growing seasons in other parts
Well, what you have blooming is as pretty as a picture. The Oxalis around the tree looks very nice. That first blooming bush looks like some kind of a ornamental Laurel bush. Those are lovely to see, Dooley.
At this time of year it's lovely to see what others still have flowering in their gardens. I agree with Sjoerd that your mystery bush looks like a laurel. Thanks for taking the time to share all your blooms with us Dooley.

Colour! Oh, lovely colours too. Looks like your yard is abouzz with more things than insects still, you lucky girl.
We have the insects too. I got stung by a wasp yesterday and it was in the kitchen. I picked something up off of the island in the kitchen and darn if a wasp wasn't on the back side of it. OUCH! I put my hand in cold water and plastered it with baking soda. It's fine now. dooley

Beautiful orange butterfly on the marigolds... I agree with several others, it's always fun to see what is going on in other parts. I can almost feel the relief in the Texas folks post since the heat has let up. You all had a rough summer. I have some similar looking peppers that wer nice a sweet when they were yellow but as they turned orange and then red they got hotter and hotter. Iwas surprised -- I thought they were bells and would get sweeter as they turned. Karen, pretty shot, but it makes me realize I'm just not ready for snow yet...
