Three of our cats stay on the enclosed back porch in the winter time. Two of their beds are setting on the glider and one in in a chair. We also have a heated mat that sets on the floor. They are really good about sharing the heated mat. Everyone gets their time on it. But the 3 beds are for the individual cat. My wife has taken to spraying the beds with Fabreeze to keep the odors down and keep them from stinking. But Bert the female dosn't like the smell. Last night she came in and promptly pushed her bed off of the glider, turned it upside down so she wouldn't have to smell it. Then she laid down on the underside and went to sleep! Talk about stubborn!

LOL! Reminds me of my two. I use Odo-Ban for everything ... fabric refresher, germ killer etc. The fragrance is pleasant and the dogs don't even notice. But occasionally, when their bed is still damp because I haven't let it dry all the way before allowing them back on it, Tango will scratch and burrow and dig and make a huge fuss till the bed is either A) turned over completely at which point he'll use the underside or B) the snuggle blanket, which normally they burrow under, will be pushed and shoved into the bed to cover all the offending areas, and he'll sleep on top of the blanket instead of burrowing under. All the while of course looking at me accusatively like I'm making his life soooo miserable!

I am cursed with a good nose, works too good most of the time and when people wear too strong a perfume near me, I sneeze. I could not lay my head down on something that has a fragrance....so I can't blame the cat. I bought the wash n' zip beds and when they dogs/cat beds smell, I put them in the wash machine and use some baking soda if they need it. They are great beds and can go through washings better than any other pet beds we have used.

My little pup is so spoiled that she has 3 beds. I wash one at a time so she always has 2 to pick from. I use no- fragrance laundry soap. She still gets upset because I washed her scent out so she rolls around on it and scratches at it until she's happy with it again. Sherry, I need to check and see if I can get the wash and zip beds here. They sound a lot easier than the kind I have.
