We are having lots of rain,..but its still mild weather,..everything is attempting to give just one last bloom before becoming dormant. One long standing Pink Hydrangea has a few small blooms. ( photo / image / picture from Philip Nulty's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Philip Nulty's Garden ) A cutting from the parent Hydrangea is also in bloom,..but starting to show a slight variation in colour. ( photo / image / picture from Philip Nulty's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Philip Nulty's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Philip Nulty's Garden ) Campanula,..still showing lots of colour. ( photo / image / picture from Philip Nulty's Garden ) During the summer i pruned a few branches on my Forsythia x intermedia,'Lynwood',..one of the branches was fairly straight and about 3 Ft long so i used it instead of a cane to hold up a rose bush,.."its grown a shoot",lol,..this bush is so easy to root. ( photo / image / picture from Philip Nulty's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Philip Nulty's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Philip Nulty's Garden ) How it looked in summer,..but not now of course. Look at your blooms! You lucky so-and-so you. Our hydrangeas are brown now. The only colours in our garden are yellow, green and brown. I'm looking forward to seeing the Forsythia blooms again too.
I have very little colour in the garden now. What I do have comes from the autumn leaves on the trees. Thanks for the uplifting photographs Philip.
Hi Droopy, it does put on a good show that Forsythia,.. and the growth rate is VERY fast,..its ideal as a wind stopper. ----------------------------------------------------- Hi Luke, that's a very nice Hydrangea you purchased,..as i mentioned before you have the added bonus of those variegated leaves,..i never came across one here. ----------------------------------------------------- Hi Eileen, i know the Autumn leaves look nice,..but of course its blooms we all long for,..i may have a longer spell of blooms but you have birds in the garden,..only the brave or foolish bird lands in my garden with my feline clan,..or pack,..lol. ---------------------------------------------------- Hi Kathyd, thank you,..alas by next week there will be less,..maybe just roses. ---------------------------------------------------- Hi Cheryl, i usually have roses up to when it snows,..and it doesn't always snow here in the Midlands,..it would be nice if it skipped us this winter.
Still a few splashes of colour on this 9th of November. Gaillardia pulchella on 9th November. All so nice. I don't get to see my garden too often now. By the time I leave work and get the bus to the village it's already dark
I would never have guessed when i started these "Gaillardia pulchella",'Indian Blanket Flower',that they were so tall,..2 Ft and that they would be blooming coming up to December,..i certainly will sow more next year. Hi Cheryl, i also discovered the colour of the mystery Chrysanthemum,..due to it showing a bud,..Maroon would describe it for now,..seeing its only a bud.
