I googled this plant(Hawaiian Ginger)and there is not a plant like it there. It is gorgeous but I would really like to know its name and care. I was told sun to part shade and water (outdoor plant)the more sun the pinker the color on the leaf. The undersides of the leaves that are pink look wonderful. There are three healthy stalks that I plan to divide and put into some shiny large blue planters to make a dramatic place for the eye. I had trouble in photo bucket and resizing. Has anyone else had any trouble? The spots on the leaves must be from watering at the nursery.
It looks like a Cordyline of some sort. Have a look here: http://www.desert-tropicals.com/Plants/Agavaceae/Cordyline_terminalis.html
Thanks for the link. If it is that plant I am sad to hear that it is not very sturdy in the elements.
They are beautiful D2D. As for photobucket . . . I got fed up . . . I load my pics to shutter fly, and crop/enhance them . . . then save them . . . then I load them again to Picturetrail.com to get the imaging address. It sounds like a lot of trouble, but I think it is worth it.
I have one of those plants!!! :-D Haven't a clue what it's called though as I got it from a 'save and rescue' centre and it didn't have a tag. I grow mine indoors and it's doing really well. I hope we can put a name to it.
