Theres a pretty poor selection of gardening shops in montreal. So when we visit family in ottawa i get to pop into the great shops they have there.

well thats the plan, not had time to do it the last 2 years. But have persuaded the wife to leave earlier today so i can pop into lee valley to pick up a few items i have had my eye on last 2 years.\

namely a good gardening fork and spade and with luck a dutch hoe or shuffle hoe.

will posts piccies when i get back

    I LOVE Lee Valley!
Do you think you will be able to get out of that store with only what you went there for?? They have some great stuff!

The next best thing to buying new plants is to buy new tools for the garden. Have fun and enjoy!!

For those of you who aren't familiar with Lee Valley Tools, they are suppliers of gardening tools, woodworking tools, and cabinet hardware. And you can shop online!

Dan... have fun looking for tools. And after looking through just one of those catalogs.... there's only 2 things I can say...
    1. I bet you'll get more than what's on your list.
    2. Glad I don't live near Ontario... I'd go broke in that store! Heck... I already found a couple of things I'd like to order! :D

Well just got back from visiting the family and more importantly shopping for the garden.

Lee valley was awesome, and managed to get out without buying anything extra which was good.

Unfortunately they had sold out of the spade and fork so going to have to wait until june :scheming: :scheming: was annoyed with myself got not backordering them before.

but got some great stuff, my favorite was the seed catalog. which will tidy up my large box of seeds.

We also went into Ritchies seeds (not sure if you have seen these guys Netty) a superb gardening store. Where i was able to pick up a good shuffle or dutch hoe.

As well as a great selection of 3"inserts for my seed trays.

now that place i could have spent a fortune in

Dan, those are my most used tools in the garden. Enjoy the quality of them. One good tool is far more valuable than a bunch of poor quality ones.
