Hahaha...When I come home with bags from the garden, I see the neighbours closing the curtains. I reckon that they have had enough. Chortle.
Sjoerd, I think it depends on what is being offered. My garden is slowly being put to sleep for coming winter. The tomato plants are taken out a few at a time because I cannot chop up a plant that has green tomatoes and blossoms. Also the Bell peppers are just now producing for real so they have earned time.
Yeah...you are right, GP. I was just talking about courgettes. I have had several hundred of them this year and offered some to our neighbours here. I think that they have courgette overload. They are still pleased to get toms, beetroot, spuds and leeks.
It had a farmers market two weeks ago that they asked for zucchini bread the next time. Well, I made zucchini bread. Tropical twist zucchini bread, pumpcchini bread, chocolate and chips zucchini bread and plain zucchini bread some with nuts and some plain.... They had about 30 loaves to choose from. Tomorrow is just tropical twist and plain with or without nuts unless I get really ambitious tonight after I am done baking cookies.
I grate zucchini and freeze it for zucchini bread in the winter !! Also slice and freeze for stir fry or casseroles ! I like it in my spaghetti sauce and lasagna !
