You guys know the song, I am sure--well the fire is sooo delightful inside and my girls have found it!
It is so cold, gray, windy and rainy out there--but they have taken up residence above the centeral heating on my germination shelf. it started with one then they regularly fought over the one sleeping basket (on the left) so I was forced to come up with a second one. It is plastic and will have to do until I can get the time to find one for Gül. I looked this past weekend, but had no luck--only the huge baskets, like for a dog or something.

Well, my partner saw them and had to take a pic...so here they are--
Nice to have cats, eh?...they spend most of the day and all of the night-- and give almost no attention to us. Hurmphf!
    Some pets :-?

    Taken from a little distance.

...and this one close-up (a little later)--they only cracked an eye a little, further there wasn't any responce.

It occurred to me that you may be wondering why we give them such small baskets. It's because they shun larger, roomier ones and consistently choose these small containers. I suppose that they find the snugness of the baskets cozy or something. Who knows how the mind of a cat works.

Ha ... it did not occur to me that there were cats in the baskets until I saw the 2nd picture. Oh, so comfortable and warm.

They look like large bookends supporting the papers in the middle. Wise cats indeed to find the warmest place to bed down in!! :-D

Looks like they don't mind the 'frightful' weather. They are as snug as a bug in a rug! Don't know if everyone has heard that saying. My mother use to say it all the time!! But they look cute and comfy. ;)

Too cute! My cat seems to like smaller baskets too.

Awww, look at those adorable, little darlings! :D Our cats usually play catskin rugs on the bathroom floor when the weather's too cold for them, or they need to recharge or whatever cats do when they sleep away most of the day's hours.

Aren't they just the cutest things!
Does the one on the left play with the Pencil Cactus, Milkbush Latin: Euphorbia tirucalli hanging over it's basket?
Don't know about cats but the milky sap inside will cause blisters on human skin, at least on mine it did. :(

What beautiful cats. They sure do like to choose their own place to sleep. Our old girl, Penny, likes to curl up in the lid of my laundry basket. No sooner have I put the washing in the machine, there she is curled up and cosy in the lid and so it has to stay there until she decides to wake up :-D

They are beautiful. I wish I wasn't allergic, I would love to have a cat- whoops, have a cat have me. I grew up with a cat- my mother loved them and even went the whole allergy shot route with us to no avail. Her cat ruled the house- she bit my mother whenever she yelled at us- I guess her cat thought she was our mother.

Cute kittys Sjoerd. We have one named Pouncer who
closely resembles your kitty in the wicker basket.
Our cats think of us as "staff".
